“you are ill” is an interactive piece that simulates the experience and effects of delusions and intrusive thoughts. The viewer is given control of a creature who encounters various monsters across a surreal landscape. These monsters tell the viewer harmful messages and the viewer must choose between two options in response. Once the option is chosen the scenery darkens by a random shade, turning the scenery nearly black over time. Finally the viewer encounters a bed and is able to go to sleep to escape the landscape and the monsters. However doing so causes the piece to reset itself–the viewer is once again at the beginning of the scenery and has to face the monsters once more.
